CHINESE NEW YEAR 2013

Before I start writing this post, let me warn you that it is going to be a very very long post filled with lots of pictures. Nope, not only pictures of me but my family members and friends as well. I just finish my assignment 1 hour ago and cant go out to the living room because my family is having pizza and I do not want to be tempted, therefore I have to stay in my room and there is where I decided to blog. It was an impromptu post.

DAY BEFORE CNY
As I remember, I came home from church pretty late the day before and slept at 2am but an incident accur that I immedietly woke up at 8am. Went to visit a friend for a while then meet up with my family at a temple to pay respect to my great grandparents.

This tree caught my eye while waiting for my great grandparents to finish eating. It has been there for many many years.

After visiting the temple, my family and I headed to Medan Selera for lunch which is located on the way to Batu Ferringhi and then joined my 2 aunties and sister for a walk in Gurney while waiting for time to pass.
Got my eyebrows done. Dang, all the prices has increased kao kao due to CNY. haha

Went back straight to my grandparents house after Gurney, got ready and off we go to Red Rock for my 20th CNY reunion dinner.

The place is huge, very noisy but I can feel that I am in a very happy environment. Relatives from near and far reunite again to celebrate this special event. It is truly a meaningful one.

This pictures was taken before we head up to the restaurant and before the food was served.

DAY 1 OF CHINESE NEW YEAR
Woke up feeling fresh and excited to see whats going to happen today.
Got ready, take picture and off we go to my grandparents house.

Chinese New Year outfit.
Do visit the blog and see whether you can find something that caught your eye. The prices are reasonable as the quality is good.

Taking picture is a must. Its going to be part of my memories one day.

The second best thing about CNY is "ang pau"

About an hour later, relatives came and visit the new house.

Grandma with Aunty Kimmy and her sister, Aunty Gim

Mothers and Daughters.

The Tan's family from KL/Singapore

One Big family.

Not to forget, my precious and priceless possession, my family.

With grandparents. <3

 With parents. <3

 and lastly, US.

Our first and only visit to my grandpa's and her siblings godma's place.
She is already 90+ years old and she still looks so beautiful. She used to be a very strong politician in one of the Chinese Association.  =)

This was taken when we are about to leave the place for lunch.

Went for lunch at DeHappy.
The four cousins. 3 of them is still not married. Happily collecting ang pau's. haha

After lunch, went home and rest for a few hours before going to our next place at night which is Uncle's place.
#OOTN. Jumper bought by Mel from Hat Yai.

The food served at that night was delicious. Pork Ribs, Pasta, Prawns, Kiam Cai Boey, and lotss more.
The advantage of having a chef in the house. =)

Fire crackers.

Nothing much to do there but eat, chill and gamble.
This little girl is named Jazlynn. Out of no where, she came and hug, manja and stick to Mel the whole time. Such a cutie. =) She attends Latin classes. Amazing.

After gambling for a while, somehow the electric was cut off and that is the reason  we decided to come home. It was also very late already.=)

DAY 2 OF CHINESE NEW YEAR

I was suppose to work as there is an extra pay but what the heck I was thinking, its CNY and I am suppose to be enjoying. Thank God, Sharon and Aaron invited me to go watch Les Miserable again. Edmund joined us too.

Pictures of me throughout the day.
Credits of Aaron Xavier.

Went to have breakfast at a mamak place. The owner is knows at the best man to tarik the teh. haha.
After seeing him tarik-ing the teh, I am not surprised he because he is sure damm good. =)

People I love.  Me, Sharon, Edmund and Aaron

My breakfast. Tosai with egg and not to forget, my favorite bun with kaya.

The following pictures are all taken by Aaron Xavier and Sharon. Credits to them. <3

Teh Tarik. - Him and Her
After breakfast, we head to Gurney straight away, get the tickets and just chill and wait for the theater to be opened. We went for  the first movie of the day and it is also one of the reason why we have the guts to take the following pictures because there was not many people yet. haha

Enjoy the pictures. I cant stop laughing everytime I see these pictures. LOL

I mean, is my driving really that bad? LOL

Our expressions while looking at the pictures.

Tiime for the movie! yay. Such a good movie to watch. Worth the money and time.

Empty cinema, legs up, camera's out and SNAP. =)

After the movie, we went to have lunch at Kim Gary after taking a long time to decide where to eat.

Sharon and I . beautiful

Our food. yummmy. Edmund being silly.

The Boys. Aaron and photographer of the day and Edmund.

Favorite picture of the day. yay. #OOTD

My day did not stop there, went to hang out with my uncle and cousins who just arrived from KL at a cafe at One Stop then to Adele's house for a visit and then back to uncle's place for dinner day 2. =/ The menu this time was fully Chinese.
Thankfully, uncle from KL brought his special Apple Custard which taste superb as well. =)

Did not stay there for very long, went home and have to pack for Ipoh and get some rest. =)

DAY 3 OF CHINESE NEW YEAR
The urge to go for a jog in the morning because I have eaten too much for the past few days. haha
silly me

We arrived Ipoh about 12pm, just in time for lunch. Its so good to see my cousins. Did not manage to see all of them but a few is better than nothing. =)
Went shopping at the newly opened Aeon. Nothing to buy, just window shopping.
Came home just in time for dinner. The famous steam chicken. I still can remember. Heaven.

DAY 4 OF CHINESE NEW YEAR

The following day, went to the grave to visit my grandfather then to Seng Cho Seng to have breakfast. One of the largest coffee shop ever. Its like the size of one floor of Gurney (from one end to another) and there is only 2 fans. You can imagine how big it is. The eating did not stop there, we then went to Menglembu market to have all the fast food like lok lok, koey kak, pancakes, dessert and ice blended.

It was a great day with them, aunty and mummy..=)

Look what my sis found. Soooo cute!

We only stayed there for 2 nights 3 days. This was taken during the last night. Spend a little more time with them and also eat as much as I can. haha

This is one of the glorious food which is served during the 3 days there. All the favorites. Ipoh is definitely the best place for home cook food and the second best for hawker food. First is of course Penang. No country or state can beat that.. =p

In the evening, went to church for Dehlicia's suprise bday. Was late and she was already surprised before I reached. Anyway, Blessed Birthday Beautiful. =)

oh yes, that day was also Velantines day and its really sad if I dint go out. I might not have a boyfriend to spend my day with but I have 2 good friends to make my day a memorable day.
Went to Tian Tian Lai coffee shop for Adele and Wil Sern.
It was a good night. =)

The many faces/expressions of Lim Wil Sern.

They have been friends since ever. =) #candic

99% of fun and 1% of silence.

DAY 6 OF CHINESE NEW YEAR

Did not do anything on the 5th day but stayed home to study, spend time with God, and shalom at night. So I am skipping to day 6.
Back to work in the morning, continue with studies in the afternoon, slept, went for a jog and burned 340 calories ( so proud of myself ) and the eating continues at Penang Swimming Club with daddy's school mates and their family.

#OOTN
Bodycon dress from Cotton On.

Poor Mel, sitting at the children's table and me being the eldest sister is the youngest at the adults table. LOL

camwhoring in the toilet.

and lastly, went for a midnight movie with our childhood friends. Its our first time hanging out together.
We technically known each other since we were brought into this world and our families use to go for a holiday together every year. We watched Hotel Deluxe and by the time we reached home is about 2am.

DAY 7 OF CHINESE NEW YEAR

which is today, went for mass early in the morning and then lunch with the Dorai's family and home.
I have to admit that this year's CNY is one of the best CNY in my 20 years of living.
Maybe its because I tend to appreciate more especially when it comes to family. God has been good to me and my family so far and I am looking forward to what He has in store for us as one family this year. =)
It is always nice to be around family and people you known for years and just be myself.
The one thing that I love about CNY is that families from near and far have reasons to her together. May it be once a year, at least there is something rather than nothing. The one tradition that did not and will never chance. <3 <3
xoxo. time to sleep.

CHARITY HIGH-TEA

CHARITY HI-TEA DANCE and FASHION SHOW. Organized by the Lioness Club of Penang.
It was held at Berjaya Hotel. The main reason my sister and I attended this event is to support my grandma as she is the president of the Club and also for this event.
Mummy supported grandma by buying a few seats.

Table under mum's name.

Mummy did not manage to make it for the event, therefore Chery took her place.

                                                                                              *mama giving her speech

                                                                          self-vain

The following pictures was taken during the fashion show. The dresses and evening gowns was designed by Richard Rivalee. He is a Malaysian fashion designer based in Penang. Richard is best known for his design in High Fashion under the label of Richard Rivalee Couture House. The uniqueness of his collections is that each masterpiece that was sold is never to be repeated. His woman wear collections covers from Malay style to Western style evening and bridal gowns. His menswear collection on the other hand covers modern classic suits, tuxedos and clothing.
If any of you who is interested in having your own tailored-made gowns, you can find him at his store along Bangkok Lane.

The fashion show was divided into three parts. The first one in particular, the models walks out with a piece of jewelry by Amee Philips. Apologies as the jewelry cant really be seen in pictures. There was an auction for a piece of jewelry which was sponsored by Amee Philips herself and it cost around RM5000 in total and Lioness Club manage to get RM3000 for WCC (Woman Centre for Change) from a generous buyer.
The following two parts was just a fashion show by Richard Rivalee.

I particularly love this evening gown so much. The moment she step out from the door into the ballrooom, my eyes was literally locked with the dress. I was looking at the dress the whole time. The cloth, material and the detail used was just perfect. It shows modesty, simple and elegant. Love it!

I was not really happy with the food served. I don't pay RM70++ for these food. Not only that, the food does not even taste good, the amount given was so small and there is no specialty at all. They did not served what they promised, grandma stated. Disappointing.

Anyway, it was a good time there with grandparents.

#OOTD

After the event, Chery, Mel and myself went to Straits Quay to just chill and have dinner in Weissbrau.

I have been eating a lot that day, so greens for dinner it is. Mel and Chery shared the frankfurter served with fries and spatzli.

Was there fore about 2 hours then is time to go home. It has been a long day but a good one. =)
Blessed Night everyone. xoxo
