SUFFOLK HOUSE, VIA PRE, COFFEE BEAN

 HIGH-TEA AT SUFFOLK HOUSE

We have been wanting to try the high tea at Suffolk house for a few weeks already and finally we made it. Class was cancelled and we were so excited as it is our first time there for some of us. Haminis fetched all of us and we made it in time for high-tea. We are the first. When we first reached there, we were all fascinated by the building and view itself. I was pretty amazed and did not expect the place to be huge. I underestimated it.
A little bit about Suffolk House (I got so excited, I googled it) ;
Suffolk House – Penang’s first “Great House”, a stunning example of an Anglo-
Indian garden house and one of its most important colonial heritage landmarks.
Discover the spirit of the 200 year old building and its garden through personal
guided tours, indulge in a meal in our charming restaurant richly decorated with
period furnishing. With its stylish interiors and picturesque lawn,
Suffolk House is also a unique and elegant alternative for social and corporate
functions and events.

a small bridge just outside the main entrance to the Suffolk House. A good place for photo shooting.

The building itself. Suffolk House has been the residence of our founder, Sir Francis Light and many subsequent governors of Penang and Straits Settlements during the 1800's.

What you will see when you first enter the building.

The menu for the afternoon tea.

There is a variety of tea to choose from. It is a must every person to purchase a drink. A set of afternoon tea comes with 2 cup of tea. Since we wish to order the same flavor, we are given two pots of tea which is refillable.

There is four of us and we are not a big eater, we ordered one and a half portion of the set.
It is just right for the four of us. The food that comes in the tea set is just right for our taste buds. Some are sweet and some are not. It comes with butter, cream, Pineapple jam, Strawberry jam, Ginger jam and some sort of a tomato flavour jam.

Girls being girls.

It was a fun evening with them. <3  A day to just relax before going back to our stressful life in college which is filled with assignments and finals to study for.

It is a fine dining restaurant with beautiful environment and mouth watering food. Just right for any special occasion from birthdays to business dinner to family dinner or just a date for two. Its not a place to visit every week because its pricey but its worth trying at least once or twice. Next in my wish list is to dine at Suffolk House for dinner. =)
It is a little bit hard to find the place because its deep inside but if you wish to visit the place, here is the address : 250 Jalan Air Itam, 10460 Penang, Malaysia.

DINNER AT VIA PRE

Later that evening,  I visited a place where I've been longing to go for months and finally its here.
May Chee, Ashleigh, Anthony and myself had dinner at Via Pre. An authentic Italian restaurant which is located just right opposite QEII. The interior was beautiful and a little bit dark but its perfect for a date.
Ashleigh and I reached there an hour later because of the jam we have to go through.=/

Yeap, as you can see from the amount of bread left for us and some sort of  pork ham as the starters, we are really late. but it was really good. I am a bread lover and we manage to get an extra basket of bread. The pork ham is just fresh, tender and thin enough to eat before our main course.

We ordered pizza and, a carbonara and another type of paste which I forget to take a picture of it.

and as desert, May Chee "suprised" us with a Cream Brulee,Chocolate souffle which comes together with the ice cream. Sinful but deliciousssss.

May Chee and I before leaving.

It was very kind of May Chee to treat me this round, a way to say thank you for attending and supporting her during INTI's prom. I had an amazing dinner with her and the rest. I would come back for another round. yummmy. Italian food lover here. =)

BREAKFAST AT COFFEE BEAN

The next morning, went to have breakfast with Hui May. Wanted to try the English Breakfast at Dome but apparently of all days, the manager in Dome have to come late and due to that reason, we cannot have breakfast there. Our next choice is Winter Warmers and while walking towards it, Coffee Bean came into Hui May's mind. Since it is her first time, we turn back and went to Coffee Bean.
We only have to wait for 5 minutes before we can make our orders.

Myself

Hui May

Hui May ordered black coffee and Green Tea for myself.

I ordered the egg club sandwich as usual. My favourite breakfast in Coffee Bean

Hui May's Salmon and Egg muffin. The salmon is fresh and good.

It was a very short breakfast as we have a class at 11pm but it was a good breakfast date with May May.. <3

Finally, I'm done eating. Even until now, I am feeling very full after having a bowl of Tang Yuen Soya Milk at U-soya for lunch. No dinner for me and my diet starts tomorrow. Only oats for breakfast, lunch and dinner. =) Blessed Day. <3
